Rodríguez Dismisses Exit Rumors, Vows Commitment to West Ham
Amid swirling speculation of a potential return to River Plate, West Ham United midfielder Guido Rodríguez has refuted claims linking him to the Argentine club, insisting no communication has taken place.
The 28-year-old midfielder, who made the switch from Real Betis to West Ham last summer, clarified the situation in a recent interview with D Sports. Despite reports suggesting a possible reunion with River Plate where he started his professional journey Rodríguez stated emphatically that no talks have occurred.
> “There’s been talk and headlines, but nothing concrete. I haven’t had any conversations with River Plate or anyone representing them,” he said.
A Testing Season in London
Rodríguez’s debut campaign in the Premier League has been turbulent. Initially trusted by former manager Julen Lopetegui, his involvement declined after Graham Potter took over the managerial role at West Ham. This shift in leadership sparked rumors of a summer departure, with River Plate named as a likely destination.
Although flattered by the association with his boyhood club, Rodríguez emphasized that his focus remains firmly on his current role in England.
> “River Plate is an exceptional club no doubt. But my mind is here, and I’m giving my all to West Ham,” he added.

The Argentine international has had a globe-trotting career, moving from River Plate to Club Tijuana, América, Real Betis, and now West Ham. His connection to River remains deep, but he insists there are no active negotiations or plans to return home at this time.
